THE Crown

Aside from "The Book in the Attic" and Orchid, herself, Orchid's spiderweb crown is perhaps the most widely praised, highly acclaimed, and ohmygod "Have you seen THAT in person???" item. Three golden tiers spun with genuine pearls and gemstones, 150 feet of wire, and over twenty-five hours work. Actually, I stopped counting at twenty-five hours.

The photo which you are viewing, is yet another by fine art photographer Richard Gardner. Possessing more than one website, you can search for Richard's work on the web. Or, better yet, you can view the 'Bebe' exhibition of the dolls at http://www.richardgardnerphotography.com. Incorporating my work into his takes a great deal of his time. As you may, or may not know, the first images will be unveiled at Bebe (yes, it's supposed to have those cute French accent marks). Bebe will be a month long exhibit at Foto Foto Gallery. Orchid may or may not put in an appearance. A disappointment, yes, I know. However, we have security issues that we may not be able to overcome. I would think that she will be present at the Opening, however, so stay tuned for that.

Professionally matted, finished photos ARE currently already available directly from Richard. Sheer love and an undisclosed dollar amount will get you one. I have no idea how limited they are. I DO know that they are GLORIOUS. He takes great care and does each one personally. They are produced solely by him on a magnificent exotic paper.

Yes, we do plan greeting cards. Sorry, too busy. We didn't get to them yet. And yes, there was a marvelous Christmas card planned for this year. Sorry, everyone. Richard even did the photo, but it's in MY camera and it's STILL there. Early for next year, I suppose.

Good Things Come to Those Who Wait

Trying to appease the folks who are chomping at the bit for "Orchid Photos" is not an easy task. I know that some of you have been waiting since last year for some of these pictures and, yes, I know that there are those of you are out of state, or even out of the country, making personal viewings impossible.

It's alot to catch up on for those who 'jump into the story' in the middle, but if you ask around long enough, as Orchid's fame grows, I'm sure that you will be able to find someone who can bring you up to speed on the tale.

First, I apologize to all of you who are waiting for this marvelous, slick, website which will transport you instantly to fairyland. What I had originally designed, which has been under wraps for about a year, could not easily be loaded. The pathetic, bare bones, communication vehicle that you behold is the best that could be managed. It's not that I don't know that it's pathetic, right now I don't CARE. Orchid is taking up far more time than we ever dreamed possible and it's become a big joke amongst all of us that she is extremely high maintenance.

She has several major personal appearances and engagements planned for early 2007 and I hope that those of you who are able to attend will do so. If you do not see her in the early part of the year, you may not see her in person at all as she will be working rather heavily with photographers later in the year. Yes, I PROMISE: when Orchid is done with her clothes, they will become available.
