Spring Has Sprung

Amidst endless winter,
we find eternal spring.

A photo of the irises that were planted last year, which have thankfully come back with a beautiful vengeance. Even the several inches of ice under which they were recently buried didn't kill them. Knowing me, my husband thought they were fake.

Works of Art Generate Responses

not directly traceable to the work itself. Helplessness, grief, and sorrow may exist simultaneously alongside aggressiveness, hostility, anger, or even serenity and relief. The more profound and subtle the work, the more intense and long-lasting the responses it evokes.

- Peter Straub

You are all invited: mark your calendars for Saturday, April 14, 2007; the date of the Opening reception for Richard Gardner's photographic exhibition. Richard Gardner has been working on a photographic interpretation of my work, including my collaborative efforts with A.D., for several years now. This is the first time that the photographic works will be on exhibit, unveiled, and available to the public. For more information, contact rgardnerimages@aol.com. Precious Precious

Oooooh, lucky Orchid! Precious has arrived!!!!
About one square inch in diminutive size, Precious packs a big wallop in adorableness and consummate skill. She boasts lapis lazuli eye(s), freshwater pearls, and a genuine ruby.
Precious is a custom design by C.F. specifically for Orchid. She is to become the centerpiece of Orchid's next fine art necklace. Orchid will most likely be wearing Precious at Richard's opening in April; you can see her in person, then.
Looking at the tiny masterpiece that is oh, so, Precious it is easy to see why C.F.'s sculpts are eagerly sought after, highly collectible Americana, and are regularly displayed in museum exhibitions.
For those of you who wish to learn how to sculpt, I remind you once again: C.F. has written at least three very helpful books on the subject. Not only will they get you started, they are extremely entertaining. They can be ordered by phone, fax, or mail through the C.F. Original website: www.cforiginals.net

A.D. B D MaMa

Hot toy designer, graphics illustrator, manga maker Manhattanite A.D. works at laser light speed to produce dynamite works of twenty-first century art.
.
Currently, A.D.'s distinctive sculpts are still being created without the use of molds. Created by hand from German clay, "The Girls", Orchid, Window and Vamp, whom you have so enjoyed seeing in person, are physically huge examples of A.D.'s traditionally smaller ball-jointed figures. "The girls" were created expressly for exhibition and show purposes; they are prototypes for a planned limited edition resin BJD (ball jointed doll) line.
.
A master and lover of mohair plush, A.D. produces a line of hand sewn animals derived from a vivid imagination and copious sketchbook. Hours and hours of hard work have produced lots and lots of wonderful animals. "Horsey" is outrageously adorable and is the latest cutie to take position next to "Deery", an often gloriously colored vintage deer, and the felted "Kitty" with rhinestone eyes, who is shown above. Kitty and Bunny have been done in too many variations and incarnations to name. For the faint of heart and non-Lovecraftians, I will politely not mention Necromiconey; Necromiconey should come with an added label: erudition required.
.
Always expecting macabre beautiful fairy tales, there are those of you who tend to tell me, "It's COMIC BOOK-Y!!!!!": Yes; A.D. is a comic book illustrator. A good one. Maybe a superb one. A.D.'s time period is twenty-first century, whereas mine is more than one hundred years prior to that, with colors bright and perky and lines flowing and strong. We have our similarities, we both sculpt and we both sew, but we are entirely different. Orchid, Window, and Vamp are successful collaborations for Little Cow Harbor, which is this dark vine-y side of the fence. Leave here, if you dare, and visit http://www.angeldevilland.com/
