Dark Marchen Alice

Alice chased the white rabbit into a hole and fell into the underworld. There, awaiting her, was a strange land where it was forever 3 pm. Princess Rose and Prince Giggles live there with their servants.

The dolls are by Mari Shimizu.

Rose Alice

Japanese doll artist Mari Shimizu's work has been brought to film. This collaborative work tackles our perennial favorite "Alice in Wonderland" once again and looks like it will rival Tim Burton's version for visual splendor and sheer delight. Kyo Otake

Yes, this is a doll. We're not going to argue whether or not it has a soul. It is quite evident that it does.
.
It is one of the life size works of Japanese ball jointed doll artist Kyo Otake. The dolls are stone clay over a carved Styrofoam armature.
.
See more of her beautiful work on her official website which is here:

Simon Yotsuya

"If you taught me how to sculpt, then who taught you?" someone asked me one day.
.
I said with a shrug, "My mother? I started at four years old with PlayDoh. Perhaps, no one taught me."
.
Certainly, I grew up with no great love of dolls. I never even knew that the figures I'd made for my whole life were dolls. I made them because I could. I made them move because Barbie couldn't.
.
Thinking of that, I decided to follow up on the name which was given as Akagi Shigure's inspiration: doll master, Simon Yotsuya.
.
You can find Simon's work here: http://www.simon-yotsuya.net/oeuvre/galerie0.htm Be sure to click on the little square Japanese worded boxes along the bottom of the page; there is quite alot to see.

Akagi Shigure

A Japanese doll artist with a decidedly modern bent. For those who always ask, "How tall?" The answer in this case is: lifesize.
