And to Queen Luckyl for providing Pickle with her new DaisyDayes legs.

Weeener Thanks Fishcake

Here is Weeener all duded out with Queen Fishcakes's gifts.  Weeener adores this hat; she must have been wearing it for a year now. Thank you so much, Queen Fishcake!

You may have to click on each of the two images to see them properly.

Doll Fanciers' 2014 Show

This is what I came home with:

Lonely porcelain doll, a very old Mammy doll, a darling dirty fabric dog who is probably from the 1930's, and a quartet of tiny vintage vinyl dolls for Weeener.

Anavel Wins!

Anavel took a First Place blue ribbon in yesterday's UFDC Doll Fanciers' show and competition.

He is a beautiful race horse and I am so glad that he won.  Congratulations to all who worked on him! People really were thrilled to see him and enjoyed him so much.

Anavel's face was painted by Sdink, his body was painted by Enki, his eyes and hair were done by Anavel, and his clothing was done by myself.

A huge Thank You to all for all your hard work!
 ♥

The theme that I chose to display was "Inside the Gingerbread House".

Guest appearances in the display were made by Spiritdoll Herber the rabbit done up by myself, Sarangelo's Tea Cup fairy dollie customized by Candygears, Octopussy by the Mushroom Peddler,  the red Time Keeper by the Four Horsemen, and West Nile Charlotte by Simply Divine.

Special thanks to Weeener for lending me her food!

Snitzel

For everyone who has been waiting for a companion to Weeener, there is Snitzel.  Snitzel is a hybrid Soom Dolomi with DaisyDayes hooves.  Snitzel is out and about and is off being painted.

Here is a sneak peek of Snitzel visiting with the artist's Heliots.

Can you guess which fine artist will be painting Snitzel?

Odette has Arrived

Yves has outdone herself on Odette's paint.  There are simply not enough superlatives in the English language to descibe how exquisite Odette really is.
Weeener loves her.  Odette is able to ride a bicycle; I am beside myself with being 'thrilled'.
Odette will make her American debut at a private party on March 19th.  Thank goodness she will be there to keep Weeener in check.

Cordelia and Odette

Once upon a time, in the land of Oz, Dorothy visited the wizard, the tin man got his heart, and Frank L. Baum wrote about it.  Oz became a very famous fairyland.  Over one hundred years later, people use airplanes to visit Oz and the great queens communicate regularly by magic mirror.

This story has nothing to do with Dorothy.  This has nothing to do with Princess Ozma.  Frank L. Baum never chronicled what I am about to tell you because it is "news in Oz".

Once upon a time, (Yes, I said that already, please bear with me.) Once upon a time, (I forget where I was. These stories are not easy.) Once upon a time, in Oz, there lived two twin sisters.  The twins were born in Korea.  They settled in Oz where they roamed fairyland freely.  Their only job was to sit and sew.  The twins would stitch and mend broken hearts back together.

As the twins stitched, day in and day out, they would prick hearts.  Some hearts were broken and needed fixing, of course.  These hearts were gladdened by the twins touch.  Other hearts felt the prick of the twins and felt jealousy.  Some hearts felt the prick of the twins and their hearts lifted in wonder and joy.

David Ballard felt the prick of the twins. I am guessing that he felt delight.  He used his own magic and captured them for several moments of forever, suspending them for the world to see.

Are you settled in with your tea?  Well, what happened was this...

One day in the dead of winter, the Queen of Little Cow Harbor gazed into her magic mirror and said, "My goodness! There is an upheaval going on in Oz! My goodness, the twins have their suitcases out!"  She quickly contacted the Queen of the Snobs.  "Look!", she said. "Look at what is happening in Oz! What shall we do? Shall we offer an invitation to the ball? Do you think that either of the twins would like to attend?"

The Queen of the Snobs laughed and laughed.  She said, "Well, she is worthy.  Tell her that if she will comb her hair, then she can come."  The Queen of Little Cow Harbor said, "Hmmmm, I do not know if that is the proper way to phrase an invitation. Since the twins spend as much time in the woods as I do, my hair looks exactly the same.  We can always re-do her hair if it looks like the cat got to it.  I shall simply ask if one would like to come.  I shall say, Dear Cordelia or Dear Odette a position is open in Little Cow Harbor.  It will require your nightly attendance at all masquerade balls here in fairyland as someone must simply chase after Weeener."

It simply does not do to have a hermaphroditic succubus on the loose when one has dancing horses.

The Queen of Little Cow Harbor said, "Do you think that will do it? Telling the truth never hurts, right? I do think that playing with Weeener is a full time job."  The Queen of the Snobs agreed.

And so, I extended the invitation.

Blue Ribbon Horses

Edge Godiva and Weeener danced their way to a first place 'blue ribbon' at this past weekend's UFDC Doll Fanciers show here on the island.  The piece was entitled "Shall We Dance?"; the setting was a Masquerade Ball room.
.
Weeener sports Daisy Dayes legs and beautiful Christy Johnson paint and customization.  Edge's signature 'Sdink eyebrows' brought much "Oooooohing and Aahhhhhhhhing !"
.
.
Additional un-retouched photos of Edge and Weeener from the show are here on the Journal :  http://catcara.livejournal.com  .  You can also find detailed "credits" for both dolls on the Journal.
.

I am sorry that I did not get a photograph of the darling little winged frog carrying a Valentine.  I was ever so grateful that he had 'volunteered'.

Blue Ribbon Winners !

Edge Godiva and Weeener are now 'blue ribbon' horses in my stable.  They are 'first place winners' from the UFDC Doll Fanciers' show this weekend.
.
Dance with me here :  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpdSQ1v-4h8 !
.
I spend a great deal of time trying to explain to everyone that 'I am not just me'.  Some people create dolls entirely by themselves; I do not.  Not only do I receive a great deal of help with the dolls, the 'help' comes from those who are completely fabulous artists in their own right.
.
Please give a huge standing ovation and a hearty round of applause to the following hugely talented American artists who worked very hard to make Edge and Weeener a reality:  Christy Johnson for Weeener's paint, Daisy Dayes for Weeener's hooves, and Cheryl Austin for Edge's face.
.
Yes, I did do all of the clothing.
.
I thank each and everyone of you for all of your support and all of your encouragement.  The dolls would never be possible without each and every one of you.
.
A detailed listing of the "credits" is on the Journal and can be found here: http://catcara.livejournal.com/188984.html

Chade and Weeener

This photograph was taken by Fenris at a recent Seattle trunk show. Click the photograph to see Weeener. Chade belongs to Fenris and it looks like Weeener has taken quite a fancy to him. It makes me feel very badly that soon she will have to leave him and all her west coast friends and travel home to Little Cow Harbor.
.
Chade is a Soom Bygg . He was painted by the Queen of Slantways.
