La Famiglia

Conveniently located off the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway in Nassau County on the Island, La Famiglia specializes in utterly delicious Italian delicacies, served in utterly huge quantities, at an utterly fair price.
.
My husband and I feasted upon enormous seafood stuffed portobello mushrooms, zuppa di mussels in a garlic red sauce, and outrageously tender ultra-fresh calamari in a hot sauce.
.
Upon discovering that I have a debilitating weakness for tangy key lime pie, the owner treated us to dessert on the house with our coffee and cappuchino. Hands down, it was the best key lime pie I have ever had outside of my beloved Conch Republic.
.
Available for parties, and certainly on my list of 'Maybe we'll go HERE!' for Orchid's shower, find this wonderful restaurant here: http://www.lafamiglia-ny.com/west.html There is also an 'eastern location' in Smithtown.

Kick Start My Heart

We belong to a race car club because we love cars. This is not the same type of racing that 'the club' is into, but I know all of you will enjoy this as a Valentine's Day treat.

Turn the sound on and enjoy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVyawjr9m-c&feature=related

Find the Northeast Timing Organization, dedicated to nostalgic drag racing, here: http://www.neto-nostalgia.com/ . You do not need 'a car' to join, and their annual picnic is great!

Born of a Tornado

One of the best things about having friends is they've always got your back. For all of you who think that I find these great things on my own, I don't.
.
Here is a great find about another eccentric not unlike those who populate Little Cow Harbor:

There is a little video you can watch.

Dolls (1987)

A film with one moment of 'Pan's Labyrinth' and shades of Brom's 'Plucker'. Moral of the story? Do not piss your toys off.

Momentarily boring and then quite amusing, watch the clip here:

Treasury of Fantastic and Mythological Creatures

When you dream impossible dreams and fight unbeatable foes, have you ever thought: Perhaps others have seen the same things? If so, what do those things look like?
.
One of the best things about hanging out with fine artists is finding out about the best fine arts books. Whether you sculpt, whether you draw, whether you dream, you will love having this book on your shelf.
