Poppy the Blythe

When I took Poppy out, she was bundled up for winter.  It is ninety degrees here today. I said to Poppy, "This will never do! That is the best Russian hat ever, but I can see why you would want to take it off." So, we changed the outfit to another one from LikeTheseDolls.

Cerulean the Blue Sard is Home

Cerulean was painted by Pepstar. Pepstar did a wonderful job handling his blue color.  I did his ab fab jacket with peacock fabric that was a gift from Queen Fishcake.

There are three photos here. You may have to click on them to see them.

Cerulean the Blue Sard

Here is a first little peek at Cerulean's make up. He was "Artist's Choice" by Pepstar. Her camera has taken all of the blue out of his skin and hair, so you will have to use your imagination to put it back in.

Quinn, The Most Elusive Beryl

Quinn must be the most elusive Beryl because she is never seen. She has probably been hiding because she stole this Russian gown from the Cuprit who now lives by Queen Clara.  This gown must be seen in person.  It sparkles like diamonds when in the sun.

Quinn's make-up is by MadamMauMau.  She has her original horns in their original color from Soom. She also has her original hooves.

There are two pictures of her. You may have to click on the images to see them.

Todd Rundgren - Can We Still Be Friends (1978)

Queen Peg and I aren't just friends. We are old friends. Like the finest vintage silks which soften and deepen their sheen with wear, we only enjoy each other more and more. We know all of the jokes.

Queen Peg and I call this "Chicken eating music."  When we are left alone to our own devices, we listen to Todd Rundgren and make chicken in the oven with Joe's Stuff.  We sip our wine, we laugh, we have a perfect evening.

"Memories linger on.
It's like a sweet, sad, old song."

Keto

So. The King and I were at the market and we ran into a person that we have not seen for awhile.  They said, "You two are looking absolutely fabulous! What are you doing? And we replied in unison, "Keto!"

We are poster children for Keto. The King predicts that we will get the whole Kingdom doing Keto. Queen Redastor does Keto and says, "Keto is a way of life."  Many people have asked us, "But how do I get started?"  We tell them, "You need to figure out what you can eat and what you cannot eat and then you just go from there."  It is essentially very easy.

I would like to introduce you to the person that we call, "Dr. Quack".  While I am sure his profession is quite honorable, the King and I do not recognize him as a real doctor.  However, we cannot argue with his advice and our results. Dr. Quack recommends that you pick one person's advice on Keto and stick with them. He is our "one person".

Counting My Lucky Stars

Queen Rose says all the time to me, "You love sappy. But you don't do sappy." I find this song to be endlessly romantic. And it reminds me of the King.

"We found each other somehow.
Counting my lucky stars tonight."

Crimson Peak Official Trailer #1 (2015) - Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chasta...

I did love this but it is worth seeing for the costuming alone.  The costuming is luxurious.

Beauty and the Beast [French] Official U.S. Trailer 2016

These are the colors you can expect to find emulated in my work. They are the colors I am surrounded with everyday.  Beauty's gowns and her jewelry are what my people wear in Little Cow Harbor.

Beauty and the Beast – US Official Final Trailer

The King took me to the theater to see this when it came out.  While we both enjoyed it, I vastly prefer the French 2016 version.  The King does not have horns. Only my horses have horns. And I have a horny dog. Hmm. Go figure.

Beauty and the Beast and the King and I

Beauty and the Beast is our fairytale. The King is a Leo.  He roars and even looks like the Lion.  I adore the King.  If you watch the French 2016 version of Beauty and the Beast and you observe the colors, you will realize that they are the colors of Little Cow Harbor.

Other than the hokey statues (my statues are much better) the French Beauty and the Beast film looks just like home to me. And at the end, she moves to the magic cottage.

Lulu's Corset

So, it is time for  another fireside chat.  Brew your tea and snuggle in with me to talk about, well, corsets. (And, picky people in Fairyland.)  It has been rather cold here this spring in Little Cow Harbor.  The King and I (Wasn't that a musical?) have had the heat on.  Put your feet up and I will tell you about Beryls and corsets.

Beryls are picky.  If you want to live with one, you need to be prepared for the fact that they are Soom royalty and they expect (and demand!) to be treated like princesses. Some people can handle that and, well, some people cannot.  I am pretty good at keeping people satisfied in Fairyland; right now it is quiet here and everyone is sipping their tea and reading their books. The King recently asked, "Why do the dolls need books?" To which I replied, "To keep them quiet." I like my people to be very quiet.

Which leads me to Sophie. Queen Fishcake and I call her, lovingly, "Sophie Cushion".  Sophie Cushion must be the most impossible, hardest to handle, Beryl on the planet.  Sophie Cushion managed to get herself ousted from Little Cow Harbor. (That is a difficult, but not impossible, feat to do.) Sophie wanted absolutely everything; no matter who had it, she thought she could take it. Sophie is an SDink Beryl, need I say more?  I consider myself very generous as a queen.  Sophie pushed me to the limit and I ousted her.  As Queen Luckyl and I would say, "Sayonara Keemo Sabe!"  Let's just say, Queen Fishcake has a lot more patience than I do.

Now we can talk about Lulu.  Who did Lulu's make-up has been lost to the mists of time. However, she is very lovely.  Other than a spat over hair, we have been getting along fine.  Today I have finished Lulu's corset.  Her corset is flip flop orange pink dupioni silk lined with cream silk charmeuse.  There are pink swarovski crystals on the bow.  The lavender beaded loops are vintage Japanese seed beads from Queen Jeanne's stash.  There is a silver key to Fairyland attached to the corset so that Lulu can always find her way back home.

The corset took me two days to make.  People always say that the things that come from Little Cow Harbor  always look like fairies made them.  The truth is, I work my fingers to the  bone trying to keep people like the Beryls happy and the elves (the place is infested with elves) lay around and drink tea and read books. (Now if only the elves would clean!)

Lulu is very happy with her corset and I am very happy that she is happy.  Mutually shared happiness is a very good thing.

Which brings me to my next point. I was thinking of making more corsets.  But would anyone other than the Beryls here want one? I have a sneaking suspicion Lulu would want them all...

You may have to click on the image to view the corset.  Forgive me if the lighting is just not the best.

Lulu in Fairyland

Lulu has arrived safely.  She has selected stunning ice blue eyes. We had a bit of an argument over what her hair should look like. I finally won by saying to her, "I am Queen. So, what I say goes. I will let you wear my hairclips. How will that be?"

Lulu is quickly finding out how things work in Little Cow Harbor, so she agreed. Lulu will have a corset made out of that luscious orange pink silk that she is holding. She will also have red mesh stockings with little hearts that have not arrived yet from China. Her shoes came today and they are beautiful.

You may have to click on the images to see them properly.  There are three pictures of Lulu.

Wisteria in Our Woods

The flowering plants were particularly glorious this year. The wisteria climbs fifty feet into the sky dripping from the old oak trees. You may have to click on the photo to see the full image.
