From the West Coast Faerie Queen

As the winter winds blow chill, it warms my heart this holiday season to hear from my fellow fairy Queens all over the world.

The West Coast Faerie Queen is a talent to be reckoned with.  Anyone who has seen my dog has seen the power of her magic wand.

When her Monster Highs hit ebay or etsy I will try to give you a heads up.  I would think that they are probably selling before they ever hit the inter-web.  However, she might have a few stashed and up for grabs.

Neverland

New mini-series.

One More Day

I think that I will remove the Harborfields exhibit on Thursday, December 29th.  This leaves you one more day to see it.

Harbor Lights

It is completely impossible to live in a charming seaside town that has its own beautiful harbor and not love songs like this.

Santaland Diaries

Listen to David Sedaris describe his job as Crumpet the elf:  http://www.npr.org/2011/12/23/144136439/david-sedaris-reads-from-his-santaland-diaries?ps=cprs
It is quite amusing.  I think that the elves in Little Cow Harbor have life a great deal easier.

American Horror Story

On FX.  Not for the faint of heart.  One of those "That's why it is called a 'horror story'.  Just don't watch it."

Okay.  I could not help myself.  All of the episodes for the first season are available here:  http://vod.fxnetworks.com/watch/ahs

Merry Christmas 2011

All I Want for Christmas is You

Celebrating Harborfield's own. Harborfields is synonymous with success. I am sure that everyone knows that Mariah Carey is 'Harborfields'.  Watch her as she does our neighborhood proud.

Merry Christmas Harborfields!

Mannheim Steamroller

Having company over? Looking for holiday music?  Load up Mannheim Steamroller. I am always surprised at how many people are not familiar with their music.

Labyrinth Ballroom Scene

See the film clip here.

Daisy's little 'one of two' fire ponies is on exhibit at Harborfields, now.  Look on the lower shelf.  He is black with a flaming mane and tail.  See him climbing on the Book in the Attic?

Willy Wonka

If you have not seen the film verison with Johnny Depp directed by Tim Burton, it is worth watching.  I had been wondering why it is considered to be a 'Holiday Classic'.  Now, I know.

The Other Side of Life

Limelight

While this song sounds arrogant, I have actually chosen it because it contains a hint of what is in the 'Alice in Wonderland blind box set of three masks' set.

I think that anyone getting that set will be very pleasantly satisfied.

"What am I looking at?"

That is certainly a 'frequently asked question'.

The answer is:
If you are at Harborfields, you are sharing Christmas with Weeener and Herber.
If you are at Harborfields, you are visiting with Rouge as he performs 'Rocky Horror Reindeer'.

If you are crouched down on your knees peering 'in', you are probably gazing at 'The Book in the Attic'.

If you are visiting Weeener, Herber, Rouge, The Moon and the Monster High guest of honor from Oz, please tell them that I say "Hello" and that I miss them.
I do hope that you are enjoying them.

The Filigree Staircase

I did not write this. However, I found it to be so very beautiful. Therefore, with the permission of its anonymous author, I am happily sharing it with you. Enjoy. Be well and Be merry.

When I was younger I imagined that life was like a huge meandering filigree staircase, as delicate as lace yet as strong as spiders webs.
Each rung was a day in a time and felt differently beneath my tred, sometimes resonating a soft footfall and sometimes as though the ground shifted, that reality & perception shifts so frequently it is impossible to feel stable and not be caught in an ever shifting
labyrinth just in the context of one single day. Like tiptoeing through reality wondering when the pavement is going to slip away....

So this beautiful yet treacherous filigree staircase has landings, they open up now and then, I don't know what they will hold..

Once a room so perfect in it's simplicity with cathedral soaring ceilings and a skylight holding the perfect moonlight, in the middle of the room a boy in monk's robes sitting playing the most exquisite piano carved from the bones of a million tiny prayer renowned for perfect pitch.
His eyes are still, calm and as empty as the darkest hollow.
The music he plays makes me weep with joy at the sheer beauty more profoundly ethereal than anything I have heard before.

I edge further in to the room, the boy looks up startled and to my horror I notice he has no ears. As he looks at me his eyes fill with pain and then the most immense joy.
Above the plain cowl of his tunic his ears start to grow like unfurling orchid flowers..

I realise that in me he has witnessed imperfection for the first time and this has made him whole...Each our own lesson on this
landing....so I step away on to the next delicate yet ever holding rung of my journey.

Primitive

Rouge is my runway model horse.  His gowns were all made by me.  I hope to share them with you soon.  I mailed a great many of them away while we were working on him in Florida.

Money Can't Buy It

This song is for Rouge.  I miss you, dear horse of dreams.

I believe in the power of creation.
I believe in the good vibration.
I believe in love alone.

If you wish to build a 'Rouge of your own', please visit the Simply Divine blog.  We have the parts and we have the masks available here:  http://simplydivine99.blogspot.com/

Moulin Rouge

Do not let this vintage poster illustration fool you. Rouge is actually male.

Hello, Harborfields.  I hope you are enjoying the very lovely Christmas portion of the show.  If you have not seen the Christmas exhibit yet, Weeener and Rouge will be around until the last week in December.  They will come home to me just before New Year's Day.

The gorgeous powder puff pink creature is Rouge.  Rouge is my 'Gay Pride' Drag Queen Diva.  Here is his music:

Rouge was painted by Enki and dressed for the exhibit by StineSculpture.
He was two years in the making.
I hope that you love him as much as I do.

Am I Cupid? Am I Dancer?

I can't be Vixen, because I'm not a girl.
