It's good to be Queen

Artist's Bio :

Cathy Cara
"There was a world where I was Queen. I created all things seen ..."

Once upon a time, Cathy Cara retired from Wall Street with her M.B.A. in Finance and Investment Banking to become full-time reigning Queen of Little Cow Harbor. The quaint fairyland of Little Cow Harbor is located on Long Island's fabled Gold Coast. Since there are so many stately mansions hosting so many masquerade balls, the Queen is constantly busy supervising the construction of intricately beaded gowns, silk lingerie, and finely tailored suits. Surrounded by the splendors of rippling ocean and deep forest, inherently lazy elves spend far too much of their time reading and lounging about in the cozy shade under the magnificent branches of wisteria; the Queen is often forced to do all the work herself. Hence, she is very busy.

The Queen's rare free time is spent walking her small dog along the quiet shore of Great Cow Harbor. Cathy's pedigreed Heliot poodle is naturally pink. Edgar's fur is the color of the most scrumptious strawberry milkshake. His finely glossed pink hooves never touch the ground as the Queen carries him everywhere. It has been said that Edgar should run for Mayor in Great Cow Harbor. If you wish to find the Queen, look for her dog.

Cathy's work is strongly collaborative. She often ignores the lazy elves and is joined by industrious artists from all over the world who labor with her to make her fairyland into a reality. Cathy works in precious metal, stained glass, gemstone beads, clay, vintage fabric, and old paper to create one of a kind pieces. Much of her work is available in 'people size' as well as 'doll size'.

Beginning in January 2011, Cathy's stable of "Wild Horses" will be available for public viewing. Each of the "Wild Horses" has been 'set to music' and each is always ready to boogie down for a party. If you are, too, then be sure to watch them dance. Please note that the Queen's dog is not a horse; he only pole dances for his treats.

The Queen is particularly grateful to Dr. Steven Chase who while keeping her comfortably numb, follows Edgar cheerfully down the rabbit hole. Dear Maureen, Edgar's dog collar is available in people sized.

Thank you for your deep interesting.
